OK, we're really brewing just outside #Nottingham. Near Long Eaton in fact. This puts us on the cusp of three counties - Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.
We're really easy to get to if you want to pay us a visit. With ample parking available at the White Lion, Sawley - our sister pub, it's simple to drive down and visit. Check our contact page to find a map.
We're also easy to reach by public transport. We're just a 10 minute walk away from Long Eaton railway station down the Tamworth Road. Equally there are bus stops right outside served by the Skylink and my15 buses, which are operated by Trent Barton.
Walks in Sawley
If you have left the car at home, you'll find plenty of enjoyable walks to enjoy. Just across the road from us is the picturesque All Saints Church, and we're just down the road from the Sawley Marina. As the weather improves, this is the perfect area to explore followed by a refreshing pint of Little Jack in The White Lion.
The Sawley Marina is located on a navigational cut on the River Trent. There are both residential moorings and pleasure boats located there. It is an idyllic place to take an afternoon stroll.
Within this lovely setting, we run our microbrewery. Our 10BBL set up has been created with a view to producing high quality beers. We take our inspiration for our range of core beers from traditional brewing methods and sourcing the best possible ingredients. Try our Best Bitter, our Pale Ales and our Porter - all crafted to show the very best of their style.
For the more adventurous we also create an occasional series of one-off brews. These beers take an innovative approach to recipe development and can lead to a new addition to our core range. Recently, we created a collaboration brew with the Needle & Pin micropub in Loughborough. The result was Plummeth the Hour, a plum crumble porter, which really hit the spot with the pub customers.
We encourage everyone to come along and join us for a Brew Experience Day when you can develop and brew your own beer. No previous experience is necessary as our Head Brewer will guide you through every stage of the process. We recommend the experience for small groups of 4 to 8 people. Imagine seeing your own beer on the bar the next time you visit The White Lion!
